Death in-store signing at ZIA Camelback
Death languished as a Motor City proto-punk obscurity for decades, but no more: The Hackney Brothers, driven by increased awareness resulting from the moving documentary "A Band Called Death," are recording and touring again.
We're thrilled to have the band stopping by Zia Records Camelback (1850 W. Camelback Rd) on Saturday, April 5th, at 1 PM. The band will be signing copies of their albums and "A Band Called Death."
"The first time the stereo played "Politicians in My Eyes," I couldn't believe what I was hearing. When I was told the history of the band and what year they recorded this music, it just didn't make sense. Ahead of punk, and ahead of their time." -- Jack White
"These dudes were pre-Sex Pistols, pre-Bad Brains, pre-all that shit, and nobody knows about them. I don't understand how the world could forget them." -- Mos Def
Death performs at the Pressroom following the in-store at Zia Records. More info: https://www.facebook.com/events/1405138203074311/?ref=br_tf
