RECORD STORE DAY ADAPTER PRIZE

Once the nominating time period has closed, nominations will be vetted and the top five nominations meeting the criteria in each category will be placed on a short list.  Staff of participating record stores will vote on the final winners in each category.  Recipients of the Record Store Day Adapter prize will be announced shortly thereafter.

To be eligible for nomination for the 2014 Record Store Day Adapter Prize, titles between May 1 2013 and April 30, 2014.)

To be eligible for nomination, titles must have general national distribution and be available to all stores across the country. 


RECORD OF THE YEAR (NEW RELEASE)

Nominations in this category are full length albums, newly recorded. EPs, Greatest Hits Packages, Soundtracks, Compilations and Re-Issues are not eligible. There is no required format--releases can be on CD and/or Vinyl. 


RECORD OF THE YEAR (REISSUE)

Nominations in this category are full length albums, re-issued in some form during the appropriate time period. EPs, Greatest Hits Packages, Soundtracks, and Compilations are not eligible. There is no required format—releases can be on CD and/or Vinyl.

RECORD STORE DAY RELEASE OF THE YEAR

Nominations in this category are released for Record Store Day in the appropriate year, in this case, Record Store Day 2014. Only releases which are truly exclusive are eligible to be nominated--windowed titles are not eligible. Any format or recording length can be nominated. 

BREAKOUT OF THE YEAR

Nominations in this category are artists (band or solo performer) who in the eligibility period released the record that ‘broke’ them nationally, which may or may not be their debut release.
