RECORD STORE DAY NOTE TO FRIENDS AND FANS!
Hi there!
We wanted to drop in to your email box to remind you that everyone's favorite record store holiday is a few days away--Saturday, April 16, at your local record store, wherever that happens to be. (Need to find one? www.recordstoreday.com)Be sure to share your adventures and the new records you got with us on social media using #RSD16
VIVE LE RECORD STORE!
This is the ninth annual celebration of the record store, and it shows signs of being one of the best. Record Store Day is celebrated around the world, and in France, they're gearing up for Disquaire Day, their lyrical name for it. You'll notice that name on some of the releases this year, as bands like TWENTY ONE PILOTS, ANTHRAX and THE DOORS help us highlight the relationship between French stores and US stores, between music lovers in the US and music lovers in France. We found ourselves thinking about that connection last November when Le Bataclan in Paris was attacked while people just like all of us were spending their evening together, watching some music. The band on stage that night, Eagles of Death Metal, has not one but TWO former Record Store Day Ambassadors in it, and this year's Ambassador, METALLICA, has played there as well. And they're releasing a special CD of their 2003 set from Le Bataclan on Record Store Day. Proceeds from Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Metallica! - Live at Le Bataclan. Paris, France - June 11th, 2003 will benefit the victims' families and survivors of the November attacks through Fondation de France's Give for France fund.

Charity releases and events are just something that comes naturally to record stores, something that they do because they're all part of their community. Which is just one of the reasons there's a special Saturday to celebrate them.
Find these special releases and all the others coming to record stores as one shiny element of the party this Saturday by clicking through the details here: www.recordstoreday.com or by downloading the PDF to use as a wishlist or checklist.
So click by and check us out. We're partying this Saturday for sure, but we're around all year, shouting out and sharing how much fun it is to shop at a locally owned, independent record store. Because they're around for you all year long too!
