RECORD STORE DAY UPDATE 9-18-17
Today we want to talk with you about lines: timelines, guidelines, deadlines, etc. Of course, Black Friday is right around the corner, but you know what it's not too late to talk about? Record Store Day 2018. So there are timelines for that big day below as well!
The remaining Black Friday deadlines are:
NOW: Get artwork (square cover hi res .jpg) to carriecolliton@recordstoreday.
OCTOBER 1: Solicitations to stores begin. Please let Carrie know when you'll begin soliciting as we've been asked by the stores to give them a heads up and we keep a little calendar of them. Stores prefer when solicitations happen in a cluster, so they can see the big picture. If you solicit before the public announcement of titles (below) please include a note to stores about not publicly talking about the titles until the List is made public. We really need your help with this. We'd love it if solicitations were happening while we launch the list, which is:
OCTOBER 17: This is when we're publishing the list, but this date is NOT PUBLIC SO PLEASE DO NOT SHARE IT PUBLICLY. If your artist needs to announce on their own before 10/17 or after, please alert Carrie now, so that RSD can be part of the process. This is pretty important.
