Once More, Record Store Day Partners With Small Business Saturday To Bring Music Lovers More Exciting Titles!

AND JOE DOE & PARTICLE KID (KID DOE) AS WELL AS INDIE RECORD STORE APPEARANCES ALL OVER THE PLACE!

For the past 6 years, Record Store Day has partnered with Small Business Saturday to help indie record stores shine on a day that makes indie businesses the star of the show.

This year, along with campaigns featuring stores like Sweat Records in Miami, FL and Gallery of Sound in Wilkes Barre, PA, record stores all over the country will have a diverse selection of singles releases coming out on #Nov24 as well as a few really exciting in-store events, turning the weekend after Thanksgiving into a festive, exciting, successful time for record stores, and guaranteed fun for shoppers!

Small Business Saturday boasts 4 exclusive singles- titles that will be available at indie record stores starting on 11/24, Small Business Saturday. That means a whole weekend of reasons to visit your independently owned neighborhood record stores is right around the corner!

TONY BENNETT with DIANA KRALL "Fascinating Rhythm" 10" single
"Fascinating Rhythm" was Tony Bennett's first physical recording in 1949, made under his stage name Joe Bari, and he revisits that for his latest project, a duet with his friend Diana Krall, showcasing their shared love of the music of George and Ira Gershwin! BEN FOLDS  "Mr. Peepers" 7" single
Written and recorded for a project in conjunction with the Washington Post Sunday Magazine, who approached Ben to write a song that spotlighted the art of storytelling. Ben chose to focus, with research assistance from a Post political writer, on a character currently in the news: Rod Rosenstein


INGRID MICHAELSON Songs For The Season B-sides 7" Picture Disc
Professional singer-songwriter?  Running your own label? Guess what!? That's being a small business owner! So it makes sense that Ingrid Michaelson is celebrating this festive time of year by releasing a 7" picture disc on Small Business Saturday! KID DOE (Particle Kid/John Doe) Lucky Wheel 12" gold single
X founder John Doe and musician Micah Nelson (AKA Particle Kid) have shared stages together (big ones at Willie Nelson's Luck Music Festival, small ones like the iconic Pappy & Harriet's in Joshua Tree) and now they're sharing a single! Each musician covers a song from the other here, plus another cover of a tune close to their heart. FRIDAY 11/23 EVENTS:

Johnny Kelly & Kenny Hickey of Type O Negative at Generation Records, New York NY
TYPE O NEGATIVE has two releases on the #RSDBF exclusives list: a 3XLP reissue of their classic BLOODY KISSES LP and a Side-By-Side single with Trivium for "I Don't Wanna Be Me"  Band members Johnny Kelly and Kenny Hickey will be at GENERATION RECORDS in New York for a signing from 5 to 7 PM.


Fred Schneider of B-52s at Rock N Roll Heaven, Orlando FL
FRED SCHNEIDER also has two releases on the #RSDBF exclusives list: a rainbow vinyl reissue of the B-52s classic COSMIC THING and a single from Fred Schneider & The Superions. Fred will stop by ROCK N ROLL HEAVEN in Orlando for a signing from 1 to 3 PM.

Lindsey kicks off her Wanderland Tour and celebrates the release of her special Black Friday release-- a holiday picture disc single,, exclusively at record stores on 11/23


#ShopSmall Event! Crack The Sky at The Sound Garden, Baltimore MD
Forty years after Rolling Stone called their first record "one of the most impressive debuts of the year" Crack The Sky releases their 20th album, with the vinyl release being a Record Store Day Black Friday exclusive.  They'll be heading to The Sound Garden at 2 PM for a live performance and signing.

Ben Folds spends Small Business Saturday celebrating record stores with an exclusive single release, and a sold-out intimate performance and signing at Rough Trade.
