We talked to REQUEST MUSIC on Maui about how things are going and what we on the mainland can do to help. They gave us the names of some organizations (Hawaii Community Foundation and food-centered relief from Chef Hui) and mentioned that the store is playing host to shows that benefit the community and, importantly, local musicians who have lost homes and equipment and livelihood. Everyone (rightly) thinks their local scene is awesome, but when you live on an island and tour routing can be difficult, there's a little something extra about it.
