Ravi Shankar, a very influential Indian musician and composer, was born in India in 1920. He was one of the best-known exponents of the sitar in the second half of the 20th century and influenced many other musicians throughout the world. Portrait of Genius was originally released in 1964, and is an essential album for any fan of Shankar or Indian music in general.
