The Vinyl Junkies Record Shack is a brick & mortar shop based out of San Diego, California. Founded by Eric Howarth (former owner of M-Theory Music & record label Hi-Speed Soul) and Tim Mays (owner of the legendary Casbah, Starlite, Krakatoa, Soda Bar), Vinyl Junkies aims to be the “go to” source for serious record collectors and new vinyl listeners alike. From funk to punk, soul to hip hop, classic rock to jazz, psychedelic to blues (and the list goes on)…we carry it! So if you’re looking for that rare psych record or the latest Tame Impala release , Vinyl Junkies is an excellent place to get your record collecting fix. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for our In-Store Events. Vinyl Junkies prides itself on being a community center for promoting music and the arts. As such, we have regular in-store performances, DJ sets, B-Boy lessons, live graffiti, and other fun events based around our collective love of music. Vinyl Junkies is also responsible for the aptly named Vinyl Junkies Pop Up. With vendors invited from all over southern California, we turn the off-site location into a vinyl collecting paradise. Tons of vinyl for sale, DJs spinning records throughout the day (like past guests David J from Bauhaus, Dale Crover of the Melvins/Nirvana, Lol Tolhurt of The Cure, Matt & Ken of The Bronx), drinks at the bar, and even free pizza from Lefty’s Pizzeria! You can also find us at various record shows, as well as community events in L.A. and San Diego, selling records in our pop up shop for the day. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to find out where we’ll be next!
The Vinyl Junkies Record Shack is located in San Diego's quaint and fiercely independent neighborhood of South Park, right across from the popular Whistle Stop Bar.
