My name is Daniel Roa, I run TANGO DISCOS, a record store founded by my father, Alvaro Roa, 30 years ago in downtown Bogota, Colombia. He started at a small place selling vinyl and cassettes, promptly introducing CDs to his catalog and becoming a point of reference for music lovers. TANGO DISCOS was the place where niche genres such as Jazz, Blues, Classical music, or Folk Colombian music were not just found but also celebrated. A growing passion for music led me to join my father 15 years ago and happily dedicate my life to the family business. After a bumpy road and many ups and downs, we keep fighting the good fight and have consolidated three physical stores in Bogota, Colombia, as well as our official online store. 2021 is a very special year for the TANGO DISCOS family because it marks the 30th anniversary of a dream and the best way for us to celebrate it, would be by joining record store day for the first time.
