RECORD STORE DAY

 
We were a dedicated professional photo studio, one-hour lab and photo/camera/telescope supply shop through 2005 when digital camera kind of killed the one-hour lab. We kept downsizing as the film business waned, and around 2005 my son, who is a music nut and DJ, started a little vinyl section. Almost 20 years later, the vinyl section has taken over more than half the floorspace and accounts for more than 50% of our sales. (We've been fortunate that film photography has come back in style too...). Our record inventory is about 20% new, 80% vintage. I've been meaning to get involved in RSD for a couple years but did not realize that the cutoff date for registration is so early. So I'm doing it now for next years' RSD... John Kline Owner
Directions:We are located in downtown Blacksburg, VA, half a block from the Virginia Tech campus on Draper Road, across from Bollos and above the Milk Parlor nightclub. From I-81 take exit 118 for VA 460W, Christiansburg/Blacksburg/Virginia Tech. Go about 7 miles to the Blacksburg/Main St exit. Take Main St to the downtown area, turn left on Washington or Roanoke St and then a left on Draper Rd, which is parallel to Main. There is parking on the street as well as at the Farmer's Market at the corner of Roanoke and Draper. We're open weekdays 1-6, weekends 11-6.
