Opened in 1984 dedicated from the get-go to the vinyl LP, featuring an emphasis on classic rock, blues & jazz. We have 1,000's of collectible & hard to find LP's as well as bargain priced every day used LP's of all sorts, new release LP's, 1,000's of used & new CD's, vintage rock 'n roll memorabilia: jazz, blues, rock 'n roll, heavy metal, British Invasion, you name it. Everything EXCEPT rap.... Never had it, never will. Plus 1,000's of 45's as well. Home of the Set Sale "Killer Catalog", published regularly since 1986, mailed out USPS and free for the asking. Store owner CRAIG MOORE was bassist/singer/songwriter of the 60's garage/psych band GONN (featured on the Rhino 'Nuggets' box set) and progressive rock group ILMO SMOKEHOUSE who released one highly collectible LP on Roulette in 1971. Moore still tours once in a while with the perpetually reunited GONN, usually around Europe (summer 2009 most recently, with a UK single released on Dirty Water Records), and plays from time to time in Peoria with various line-ups of musicians. Recently, Younger than Yesterday added a small portable in-house STAGE to make it possible for bands/singer-songwriters with new albums to promote to come in and do an unplugged performance. They can sell their CD/LP at the shop during the performance and keep 100% of the revenue. If you are an artist, for further information on this possibility call the shop at least 4 weeks prior to any potential performance.
Directions:
From I-74 take University Street exit, go NORTH. 1st stoplight is Nebraska, 2nd stoplight is McClure. Go one more block north past McClure and watch to the left. At the next intersection (Gift & University) you'll see Agatucci's (Italian restaurant) and a small strip of shops with STRAWBERRY FIELDS on the corner and YOUNGER THAN YESTERDAY right next door. You can't miss it. YTY has the artwork from the cover of KISS' "Destroyer" LP eight feet tall on the front of the building and a big pink psychedelic sign on the pole out front. STRAWBERRY FIELDS is also owned by Craig Moore and is the outlet for cool clothing, hippie stuff, incense, oils, tapestries, pop culture collectibles, and much more.
