Neither Friedrich nor Alexander Fesca lived to an old age. The father reached 39, while his son barely made it to 29. Yet, in the short years they had, both made significant contributions, particularly in the field of chamber music, both in terms of quantity and quality. While Friedrich earned his reputation primarily through his excellent string quartets, Alexander became known for his numerous works for piano and small ensemble.
