One of Sundazed's most requested titles for vinyl release.. The Penny Arkade not only shared the fuzzy psychedelic pop of the Monkees, but also referenced the amazing country-acid sparkle of fellow West Coasters Moby Grape and Buffalo Springfield. Recorded in 1968 (but left unissued for decades), Not The Freeze is highlighted by the breathtakingly ambitious songwriting of Craig Vincent Smith (aka Maitreya Kali) and Chris Ducey. Together for only two years, the Penny Arkade recorded this one magnificent album before cashing out. Says producer Michael Nesmith, "You can't measure it against contemporary music in any way; you have to take it from the time that it was done. When I listened to it yesterday I was really struck by how much it really was of the time it was made. It distilled that time and voiced it."
