"The Tenor" showcases the incredible voice and artistry of Jonas Kaufmann- "The world's greatest tenor"(The Telegraph, London). The Munich-born tenor is internationally acclaimed for his roles in Italian, French and German repertoire and he regularly performs at all the leading international opera houses, tours extensively and reaches an audience of millions through cinema and TV broadcasts, including the 2015 Last Night of the Proms and 2020 Vienna Philharmonic's Summer Night Concert. He can also be seen in the 2020 Amazon Prime documentary "A Global Star in Private". This album presents a selection of celebrated Italian and French arias and duets such as "Nessun dorma", "La donna è mobile", "O soave fanciulla" and "La fleur que tu m'avais jetée", as well as a selection of immortal Italian songs including "Caruso", "Volare", "Torna a Surriento" and "Parla più piano" from the film 'The Godfather'. The selection closes with the internationally loved 'Lullaby' (Wiegenlied) by Johannes Brahms.
