Taken from the official master tapes, this is the first CD & DVD release to capture the original Colosseum line-up performing at the 1969 Montreux Rose d'Or and Jazz festivals in best quality sound and vision. Experience James Litherland, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Tony Reeves, Dave Greenslade and bandleader Jon Hiseman wowing the crowd with their innovative jazz/rock fusion. Booklet includes an informative liner note by Repertoire's Chris Welch - a must for all Colosseum fans!Captured on camera and in superior audio during their first year of existence, Colosseum must have made a great impression at Montreux in 1969. Having played at the Rose d'Or TV Festival in the April, they were invited back for the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival the same year. Using the official Swiss TV archives' footage and audio, remastered in it's original form for the first time, this CD and DVD set shows the first line-up of the band at it's finest, including a poolside scene performance, which culminated in a topless Dick Heckstall-Smith diving in to cool down.
