More Info:

This project has it's roots in the artistic collaboration between Alice and Franco Battiato which began in 1980 with the single "Il vento caldo dell'estate" and the album "Capo Nord". On 1985's "Gioielli rubati", for the first time Alice interpreted songs by Battiato not written for her, then for many years and in many recording projects she resumed her usual role of singer-songwriter until 2003, in which "Viaggio" was released in Italia, an album of covers only dedicated to great Italian authors; here there were two Battiato songs, but in the concerts that followed they increased more and more, due to Alice's renewed pleasure in interpreting the compositions. Later there will be other collaborations between Alice and Battiato, such as for the album "Samsara" with "Eri con me" from 2012 and for the album "Weekend" with "Veleni" from 2014. In 2016 the opportunity also arrived of the very extraordinary tour together "Battiato and Alice". In 2020 the "Alice Canta Battiato" tour begins, still ongoing, together with Carlo Guaitoli, pianist and conductor, already a special collaborator of Battiato himself for over twenty years. Many ensembles took part in the tour, in particular the Italian Philharmonic Soloists, who were also involved in the studio recording of the album "ERI CON ME". Thanks to this long-awaited album, Alice, with her unique vocal personality and an ever-evolving artistic path, once again becomes an instrument of Franco Battiato's music and of what he has transmitted, through these sixteen songs to which she feels she fully adheres.
