More Info:

After performing in London in 1959, Helen Merrill spent four years working mainly in Italy. She performed in Japan in 1960 and 1963, and became interested in folklore from around the world. In 1964, she released this collection of world music, singing bossa nova and folklore from around the world, which were all the rage in the US at the time! Helen Merrill was at the peak of her career, singing huskily songs such as 'Quiet Night' from Brazil, 'Cannettetella' from Italy, and the Japanese folk song 'Itsuki no Komoriuta' accompanied by Charlie Byrd, Hal McKusick, and Jimmy Giuffre!LISTEN: https://youtu.
