Benny Goodman was noted for being one of the greatest jazz clarinetists of his generation, but there was another side of his musical ambition and that was to play the music of the great classical composers such as Mozart, Brahms and Beethoven, all of whom wrote works featuring the clarinet. Benny was to get his chance again when he joined with the Wiener Barockensemble to perform Mozart's Concerto For Clarinet And Orchestra KV.622. At the Vienna, Groáer Musikvereinssaal in Austria, on the 27th Of June, 1968. There is also a chance on this CD to hear Benny's dulcet tone, when for an encore, he plays solo versions of Sweet Georgia Brown and Don't Be That Way, Which for Benny Goodman fans Makes this CD rare and collectible. If you are interested in Benny Goodman's music or a classical buff then this is your chance to hear the other side of the man's music as "Benny Goodman Goes Classic Again".
