More Info:

UK reissue of the Motown legend's 1981 album. 11 tracks including, 'Cool Me Out', 'Why (Ain't My Love Enough)' & 'Nobody Told Me'. Lamont Dozier is one of the most prolific songwriters the world has ever seen, and his career as a recording artist is also legendary. After his Motown days as part of Holland/Dozier/Holland (where his work defined the Motown Sound' came his vocal debut for Invictus and the start of a run of solo classics with "Why Can't We Be Lovers". from here came a spell at ABC Records with songs like "Fish Ain't Bitin'".(Expansion also released a collection "The ABC Years" pooling from LPs "Out Here on My Own" (1973), "Black Bach" (1974) and the previously unreleased "Prophecy" (1975), then Warner Brothers before arriving at Columbia in 1981. "Working on You" is classic Lamont Dozier. It has previously been issued on CD in Japan some years ago, but these rare copies have recently exchanged hands on eBay for upwards of £200. Lamont was signed to Columbia by Larkin Arnold during a resurgence of interest in veteran acts at the label. Larkin also signed Marvin Gaye to Columbia with "Sexual Healing" during the same period. From "Working on You" "Starting Over" became an international soul favorite, a timeless song on a quality album that sounds fresh in 2008. There were also two singles released from this album "Cool Me Out" and "Too Little Too Long". Expansion. 2008.
