More Info:

The particular story of this duo has a common thread, the love of melody, the melancholy and sweet feeling of a certain reflective sadness, friendly intimacy. The pieces that make up the project "Del Tingo al Tango" were selected by Yikal, she decided among the dozens of possible pieces those that she felt closest to her spirit and to the moment she was living when she made the decision to keep some, leaving others out. What is peculiar about this quality of the project is that the general concept of the album is closely tied to Felipe Gordillo's temperament as a composer. It is impressive how the duo is building simultaneously intellectually and emotionally, with an initial meeting that was destiny, and subsequent work that has reinforced that starting point. The voice of the violin is very suitable for the melodic vein of Felipe's compositions, Yikal develops her new competence in improvisation from the shared musical feeling. The duo is already a reality, it has form and content, it has a past, a present, and above all, it has a future.
