More Info:

Long before he evolved into a 60s Soul legend, Ted Taylor was, variously, a Gospel, DooWop, R&B and even a mainstream Pop singer. Known for his neo-falsetto, Gospel-tinged tenor, he was often compared with singers like Clyde McPhatter and Little Willie John. Sadly, Ted didn't enjoy their levels of success, although his body of recorded work remains both highly regarded and exceedingly collectable. This compilation presents the Very Best Of his early years, between 1955-62, and also includes a trio of sides recorded as an ensemble group member, before embarking upon his solo career. Includes his early hits 'Be Ever Wonderful', 'I Need You So', 'Look Out', 'Don't Lie', 'I'll Release You' and 'Can't Take No More'. Whilst not quite as rare as unicorns' manure, many of these sides are unfeasibly difficult to find elsewhere on CD
