Reviews:

Crimson Throne is a story about NASA's operation to terraform Mars for potential colonization in 1987. Seven astronauts and scientists successfully land on the red planet on September 6, 1987 and all contact was lost a mere 18 days later. Ashley weaves lush electronic soundscapes with analog synthesizers and electronic drums. About The Slasher Film Festival Strategy: The Slasher Film Festival Strategy is a horror/sci-fi themed electronic project formed by Christopher B. Ashley in 1997 in South Carolina. Born during a transitional phase where Ashley's noise/hardcore band, Murder Weapon was winding down and Index for Potential Suicide was in its infancy, Ashley began exploring new sounds with drum machines, effects pedals and synthesizers. Influences range from Japanese power electronics, early industrial, hip hop beats, drone to Vermiform Records, Bastard Noise, Sinking Body and film score composers. The project found its roots in the American noise scene, venturing into experimental drone, dark ambient and now returning to more structured electronic compositions. A majority of the Slasher Film Festival Strategy recordings are self-released; maintaining a d.i.y./handmade aesthetic, but a few releases have shown up on imprints Liquid Death, Emerald City Ruins and now Mirror Universe Tapes.
