More Info:

This 2-CD set includes Machine Fish and Feel the Rage, capturing Galactic Cowboys' distinct heavy metal evolution in 1996. Remastered by Rob Colwell and presented in a 6-panel wallet, this collection was previously featured in The Box That Bud Bought set, released in 2023 under Brutal Planet Records. Machine Fish, the band's third studio album and their first for Metal Blade Records, offers a heavier and more straightforward sound, stepping away from the progressive elements of their earlier releases. Cornerstone Magazine praised Ben Huggins' vocal intensity, likening it to the visceral experience of "being eaten alive by great white sharks." The album cover features a "machine fish," a garbage sculpture by bassist Monty Colvin, with light bulbs for eyes. "Red Sun," dating back to 1989, was reworked specifically for this album.Feel the Rage, the band's fourth album and second release of 1996, includes the new track "Paradigm Shift" and two covers: "I Want You" by KISS and "Junior's Farm" by Wings. Live versions of "Idle Minds" and "9th of June," originally from Machine Fish, are also included. The EP closes with an unlisted track, humorously titled "Grandmother's Closet/Cabin/Coffin," a short bluegrass-inspired piece created during the Machine Fish sessions. This combined release encapsulates Galactic Cowboys' raw intensity and creative experimentation in the heavy metal landscape of the 90s. For fans of King's X, Atomic Opera, Faith No More, Extreme, Primus, Cynic, Tool.
