Reviews:

This film is a glorious mess. Thankfully, Criterion has stepped up to the plateto preserve it like the rancid stillborn fetus that it is. Sure, "Fearand Loathing" has its detractors, but fans of writer Hunter S. Thompsonand director Terry Gilliam can't miss this new pressing. Included are atrio of commentary tracks: one with Gilliam, one with stars Johnny Depp andBenicio Del Toro and producer Laila Nabulsi, and another with the good doctorhimself, Thompson. Other nuggets include deleted scenes with director commentaryby Terry Gilliam, a collection of storyboards and production designs, originalartwork by Ralph Steadman, a BBC feature documentary with Hunter S. Thompsonand Ralph Steadman, letters from Thompson read on-camera by Depp, a bookletwith two pieces written by Thompson and more.
