Starring screen idol Doris Day (Calamity Jane, Pillow Talk), The Ballad of Josie is a rousing western-comedy about a feisty widow who's determined to make a better life for herself and her young son. Strong-willed and self-sufficient, Josie decides to raise sheep, despite her little town of Arapaho, Wyoming, being in the middle of cattle country. Defying tradition, she purchases herds of sheep, renovates a dilapidated ranch, dons a pair of Levi's and challenges the resistance of enraged cattlemen.
