More Info:

Modern yet grounded in the hard-bop sensibility of the 1960s, American pianist and composer Albert Dailey possessed perfect command of his instrument. From an early age, he collaborated with trailblazing musicians such as Art Blakey, Sarah Vaughan, Charles Mingus, and Stan Getz, but remained relatively unknown during his lifetime. Following his death in 1984, his music experienced a resurgence in popularity, particularly his early works, including his sophomore album 'Renaissance.' Released on November 2, 1977, this album features a bold ensemble of musicians, including the serene vocals of Cheryl Alexander, Carter Jefferson on saxophone, Cecil McBee on bass, and Adam Nussbaum on drums, combining to create some truly unique and thought-provoking jazz.
