More Info:

Iovanni Sgambati was a favourite student of Liszt and was admired by Wagner. The Piano Concerto in G minor is a heroic work; the Sinfonia festiva is confidently written and inspired by the dance-like character of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony. The late Massimiliano Damerini is the pianist. He is accompanied by the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma conducted by Francesco La Vecchia who can also be heard on Sgambati's Symphony No. 1 (8.573007) and Symphony No. 2 (8.572686).
