More Info:

Their first full-length in over four years continues to perfect their singular brand of dreamlike, hot-buttered pop music that sounds delicately handcrafted, yet effortless. Sheets of glowing guitar tones skip along propulsive percussion underscored by gently funky, introspective bass lines, all adorned by breathlessly delivered lines of lyrical poetry.

Reviews:

Mainman Sam Prekop claims that, to his ears, the new S&C collection is more "upbeat" and "strangely straight-ahead" than past offerings' with the caveat that the tunes may play like "intensely experimental" meanderings to anyone else. That's helpful. The mellow Chicago-based indie-jazz troupe has been alternately confounding and delighting fans since '94; much of their catalogue sounds like Joan of Arc on tranquilizers, which is saying something.
