'do you like rock music?' is the stunning third album from british sea power! it's hard to imagine how they could top their previous efforts but they've surpassed themselves and delivered their best album to date! unlike 99% of their guitar-toting contemporaries, british sea power draw inspiration from nature and the rich landscape of britain and beyond. their songs predominantly sing of the countryside, the mountains and the sea. not in a corny and obviously eccentric way, but in a highly believable and poetically english manner.
We like that the'"you guessed it'"U.K. quartet aren't being ironic smartasses with that title, but instead genuinely asking if we can expand the boundaries of conventional rock. Of course, we should've guessed that there was no condescension afoot'"producer/Britpop icon Jarvis Cocker doesn't work with cretins, and the smattering of new music available thus far sounds enormous (think Pulp backed by a Mogwai-conducted orchestra). Our answer is an emphatic yes!
