For Record Store Day 2015, Gothenburg, Sweden’s Makthaverskan presents their most intense offering to date with the limited edition single Witness. From the first moments of the title track, the pounding kick drum and intense guitar riff start off a three minute exhibition in post-punk excellence. The familiar elements from the band’s 2013 sophomore LP II are present, but everything from the haunted cooing of vocalist Maja Milner to the reverb-soaked guitar leads soaring throughout the song are taken to new, resounding highs on “Witness,” a song that leaves the listener begging for more from Makthaverskan. The B-Side of the single is a down-tempo reimagining of “No Mercy,” an acclaimed highlight from II.
