New Jersey's Just Blaze take care of production duties on "Throwback," and inject a definite 70s soul feel on this tale of lost love.

There are slow jams aplenty, like "Confessions" where Usher regretfully divulges his penchant for extra-curricular lady activities and the procreative ramifications. The above track and "Burn " drape Usher's vocal over loping and crisp acoustic guitar sounds. R&B industry standard perhaps, but good for chilling or bumping or even grinding to. Matters return to the dance-floor for "Caught Up" a taut amalgam of an old school break, throbbing bassline and lush synth sounds. Things stay mellow on tracks like "Superstar" and "Simple Things," but when "Bad Girl" kicks in with its Doobie Brothers style guitar riff and impassioned vocal concerning young ladies with low morals you know it's time for the bad girls to get up on the speaker. Things return to slow jam territory on "That's What It's Made For," "Can You Handle It ?" and "Do It To Me ?" Then finally, the pace picks up a little for "Take Your Hand" and the grinding "Follow Me" which closes the long player. Not necessarily a classic but a must have nonetheless Check please
