Progenitors of blues-rock bliss, Foghat's quartet of guitarists "Lonesome" Dave Peverett and Rod Price, bassist Craig MacGregor and drummer Roger Earl were as tight as any rock band before or since. Produced by the great Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix and Kiss), 1978's melodic and soulful Stone Blue finds the band balancing their blues-rock power with a more commercial minded approach with the Top 40 title track and righteous covers of Robert Johnson's "Sweet Home Chicago" and Elmore James' "It Hurts Me Too" serving as standouts. Gatefold colored 180g vinyl LP reissue from Friday Music, mastered by Joe Reagoso.
