180-Gram Vinyl Limited Edition. Born in Cayenne, French Guiana, for much of his career Henri Salvador (1916-2008) was known for his jazzy guitar work, comic talents, novelty songs, and a distinct Brazilian influence in his brand of chanson. A star in France since the end of World War II, he taped several songs written by Boris Vian, worked with Quincy Jones as arranger, and is known to have recorded the first French rock and roll songs in 1957. Some of his collaborations with Vian are included on this release, as well as his French version of Quincy Jones' "Midnight Sun," retitled "Soleil de minuit," among many other hits. 180-GRAM VIRGIN VINYL - 19 TRACKS - LIMITED GATEFOLD EDITION
