More Info:

Dick Van Altena started his legendary band "Major Dundee" in 1977 - Their debut LP "The Longer The Distance" made it to the top 20 within a few weeks - In the years to come he recorded countless albums with this band as well as solo. Even in Holland not many people know that Dick Van Altena is one of the most successful and looked for songwriters in his own country. He has written songs, mostly on request, for renowned Dutch artists like Henk Wijngaard, Mooi Wark, Toni Wille ('Pussycat'), de Sjonnies, Saskia & Serge and many, many more. Besides his solo carreer Dick is an elite member of the rewarded country music theatre show 'Back to the country' that has been running for almost 20 years now. In 2017 he celebrated 40 years of music with sold out concerts and a TV documentary. Dick was knighted for his services to (country) music and his social involvement. Johan Jansen is a Dutch steel guitarist, who works or has worked with almost every artist in the Netherlands, both live and in the studio. He toured all over Europe with several artists. For years he has been the regular steel guitarist of Cash On Delivery and The American Country Legends. He can be heard on many recordings. He is also a music teacher and gives steel guitar lessons and workshops throughout Europe. He is also the organizer of the Steeldays, known among steel guitarists all over the world. This CD was originally born as teaching material for his students. Johan asked his brother-in-law Dick to sing songs in which students could learn the steel guitar parts. The arrangements and recordings were made in his studio.
