A British explorer disappears in the jungles of Africa while on a quest to find King Solomons Mine, a fabled diamond cache. Local guide Umbopa (Paul Robeson) leads the subsequent search party, albeit with his own agenda. But will they be spared from angry tribesman threatening to revolt, and an evil witch doctor? Adapted from Sir H. Rider Haggards novel of the same name, this was the first English adventure tale set in Africa, and considered the catalyst for the Lost World literary genre that blossomed thereafter.
