More Info:

A talented rhythm & blues singer, Lawrence Stone made his first recordings for the Modern label in Los Angeles, California, in 1953. In 1955 he teamed up with the famed American West Coast pianist and arranger Ernie Freeman for the Pasadena based Mambo imprint for the excellent single "Poor Fool" b/w "Somehow I Know This Is Love." The "A" side, "Poor Fool," is a beautifully rendered ballad, while the "B" side is a more uptempo affair featuring a small but swinging horn section atop Freeman's clever arrangement. This ultra-rare single is presented here newly remastered and finally made available in the digital domain.
