More Info:

The first female vocalist to sing in Louis Prima's band, Lily Ann Carol was featured from 1940 to 1946, when she left to begin a solo career. She played the night club circuit and recorded with Charlie Ventura's band in late 1946 and under her own name in 1950 and 1951. In 1952, she signed with RCA and in 1954 recorded for the New York based Bruce label. Carol recorded for the Mercury label in 1957, and during the 1960s she worked a nightclub act with her husband, the vocalist Joe Barone. They continued to perform for the next 25 years at popular night spots in New York  City and the surrounding areas. Presented here is an ultra-rare single Lilly Ann recorded in 1954 for the Bruce Records label, featuring the beautiful ballad "Blame It On Yourself," with lyrics penned by Ted Koehler, who wrote such hits as "Stormy Weather," and "Let's Fall In Love." The flip side, " If I Can't Have You All To Myself," swings along nicely, showcasing Carol's impeccable phrasing. This rare gem is presented here newly remastered and finally made available in the digital domain.
