More Info:

The Drifters have been one of the best known and most revered vocal groups in the United States going back to their beginning in the early 1950s, when they were led by their amazing lead vocalist Clyde McPhatter. There have been many personnel changes over the years, with varying lead singers, such as the great Ben E. King who joined the group for a brief time in the late 50s. The performers on this classic live album - Charlie Thomas (lead vocals), Dock Green (baritone vocals), Elsbeary Hobbs (bass vocals) - recorded in 1972, had been members of the group, off and on, since the late 50s when Thomas replaced King as lead vocalist. For this concert at Harvard University in 1972, they are joined by new member Bobby Ruffin (first tenor vocals), who remained with the band until the late 1970s, and Abdul Samaad (guitar and arranger). This historic recording has been lovingly remastered for this exclusive release.
