More Info:

Straight up, old school funk is what's on the menu on this ultra-rare 45 RPM soul single that originally was released in 1971 on the Miami, Florida based Gem imprint, a subsidiary of Willard Bailey's Tropical Records label. That was active in the late 1906s and early 1970s. Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Little Ricky & the Deltones deliver the goods - quite obviously inspired by the sound of James Brown's fabulous band. The funky bass and drums are up front with organ and horns leading the way - fueled by Little Ricky's impassioned vocals. "Funky Sound" b/w "Ghetto Child" is presented here newly remastered, finally making this rare Gem (pun intended) available in the digital domain.
