More Info:

While hardly any book about music history mentions Soler more extensively than in a footnote, particularly Spanish musicians love his sonatas, which are often performed additionally to the big works, and often as encores, as if to finally unleash all joy of music making. Soler's music seems to jump and turn, with fingers running and hands crossing. Such joy in figuration can of course also be found in the sonatas by his famous contemporary Joseph Haydn. The selection of this album focuses on the more sober colors of the minor keys, which Soler chooses surprisingly often. Stefan Hussong, one of the leading accordionists of our time, presents them in his versions for his instruments - a fascinating kaleidoscope of emotions.
